Know exactly what to expect from Contenders #1 Dealer

The Entire Buying Process in 4 Steps.

Step 1: New Build Process

BOYLENPOINT NEW BUILD PROCESS- what to expect when you build your brand new Contender with BoylenPoint

  • At BoylenPoint, every member of our team has fished on Contenders for over a decade.  That 100 years of Contender experience when you put us all in a room.  That being said, we are here to help you build the perfect Contender for you, your family and your adventure goals. We will happily provide as much or as little input as you would like when building your dream boat.
  • Once you have selected desired model or comparison models, BoylenPoint will build out the boat with you- talking you through different options and design elements as well as reviewing options from the BoylenPoint secret menu which has extra special design elements to help achieve the ultimate fishing machine.
  • Based on your options, model, engine, electronics and sound choice we will generate an MSRP price for your boat.
  • Once price is agreed upon between customer and dealer, dealer will accept customer deposit.  This deposit is non-refundable: at this time the order gets placed, your place in line gets secured and materials begin to get ordered for your custom vessel.
  • Based on the build time of your model, there will be time to make revisions along the way but ideally, they are kept to a minimum for the integrity of the build.
  • Once the boat is closer to finalization, we will notify the customer that it is time for a final review.  This is a crucial review at the very end and is the last time to make changes- a BoylenPoint Team Member will walk through this with you and voice any recommended revisions we have and answer to any you may have.
  • It is also important to note that there can be Production Driven changes that can make small to moderate impacts to pricing. These are changes that are suggested by production based on your exact build and how everything is coming together.  These are typically all reflected on final review build document.
  • Upon completion, your vessel will be transported to destination on your trailer or transporter trailer and vessel insurance/funding should be getting completed.
  • BoylenPoint will conduct veseel documentation, warranty registration and a thorough pre-delivery inspection on the boat and engines.
  • BoylenPoint will alert customer or Contender of any manufacturer related discrepancies at this time.
Step 2: Stock Boat Buying Process

BOYLENPOINT STOCK BOAT BUYING PROCESS – What to expect when you purchase a brand new stock boat from Boylenpoint

  • At Boylenpoint, our team has over 100 years of combined experience fishing on Contenders, so when we order a new stock boat, we do our best to option each boat with the ideal options for our customers
  • Once a price is agreed upon between dealer and customer, and a sea trial is completed (if applicable), the customer will sign a purchase agreement and dealer will accept a customer deposit to take the boat off the market
  • If necessary, Boylenpoint will work with our customers to add any aftermarket/custom additions to make the boat perfect for you (trolling motors, night vision cameras, trailers, Starlink etc.)
  • Once the boat is complete and ready for delivery (if aftermarket items were to be added), the customer will sign all the necessary closing paperwork, including but not limited to state/USCG registration documents, engine warranty, Contender warranty and any potential trade in paperwork (if applicable)
  • On delivery day you can expect to receive your special Boylenpoint customer gift as well as time with one of our experienced team members.  They will walk you through your boat and help you get acquainted. If you need additional time after that, we are here for you! Just call our service manager to schedule your additional training.
  • Once you start enjoying your boat, you will have questions and possible additions- we are here for you!
  • Once you start using the boat, you will need to service your engines- we are here for you!
  • Once you start enjoying your boat, you will want to talk about Contender all the time and how awesome they are- we are here for you! We have amazing events full of amazing Contender owners and can’t wait for you to be a part of it all!
Step 3: Passthrough/Trade-In Process

BOYLENPOINT PASS THROUGH/TRADE IN PROCESS- What to expect when your new boat purchase includes a pass through/trade in

  • A trade in occurs when a customer uses their current boat as part of the purchase of another boat from BoylenPoint. The customer transfers ownership of current boat to BoylenPoint and the trade in value is applied to the new boat purchase. This process can also reduce the amount of sales tax owed on the new boat in certain scenarios.
  • Required documents:
  • Current boat USCG Document or FL title
  • Current boat FL registration
  • Current trailer title (if applicable) and registration
  • BoylenPoint will prepare the closing documents for the current boat to be traded/passed through the dealership. BoylenPoint becomes the current owner of the boat.
  • Once BoylenPoint sells the boat to the new owner the proceeds of the sale will be held in an escrow account to be applied to new boat purchase .
  • The trade in will be reflected on the new boats purchase agreement and closing documents, as well as any sales tax savings.
Step 4: Trailer Buying Process - With New or Current Boat.

BOYLENPOINT TRAILER BUYING PROCESS WITH NEW BOAT OR CURRENT BOAT- What to expect when you purchase a brand new trailer from BoylenPoint

TRAILER PURCHASE WITH BOAT

  • BoylenPoint proudly partners with Amera Trail trailers and our team highly recommends them. Not only do they build a great trailer, Amera Trail is constantly innovating and advancing their trailer designs.
  • BoylenPoint recommends adding the following options on every trailer
  • Spare tire with hub
  • Stainless steel U-bolt hardware
  • Electric over hydraulic brakes (when applicable to your vehicle)
  • Additional options
  • Stainless steel calipers and brakes
  • Bow ladder on larger models
  • If you are purchasing a trailer with your new boat you can chose to add it to your purchase agreement. We recommend this to simplify closing and when financing. We also recommend this in certain sales tax scenarios.
  • Once the trailer is complete it will be delivered to the Contender factory to transport your new boat or directly to our dealership. BoylenPoint will assist with titling (for trailers over 2000lbs) and registering your trailer.
  • BoylenPoint also registers the trailer warranty with Amera Trail.

TRAILER PURCHASE WITHOUT BOAT

  • BoylenPoint is a Amera Trail dealer for any boat model, not just Contender!
  • The purchase process for a trailer without a boat is very similar to the process above. The same options are recommended.
  • Once the options are selected, BoylenPoint will collect a 50% deposit and submit the trailer order to Amera Trail.
  • Production timeline is generally 4-6 weeks. The trailer will be delivered to the dealership once complete.
  • BoylenPoint will assist in titling (if applicable) and registration of the trailer, as well as registering the warranty with Amera Trail.
